I still remember my first-day nervousness as I walked towards the towering building on 88 Queens Quay, with its magnificent marble supports and confusing, high-tech elevator system. Fast forward three and a half weeks, and I find myself dreading the end. My time here at RBC has been incredible, to say the least. Each day is filled with new opportunities for learning, networking, and growth.

In short, a typical day at my internship consists of making my way downtown, walking fast, faces pass, and then I am home bound. At RBC, I work as a Social Intranet Intern for the Technology & Operations Connect Team, the developers of the social media platform of RBC's intranet. In Connect, employees enterprise-wide can share status updates, write blogposts, collaborate on documents, and more. Specifically, I help the team create graphics that visually depict Connect; so far, I have created a brand image/vision poster, an infographic, and hopefully, I can even finish a painting to display in their office!
As usual, today began in a sleepy stupor. After grabbing a quick coffee in the "Oasis" (also known as a kitchen), and attending our biweekly team meeting, the entire Connect team headed down to Watermark on a special occasion - celebrating co-op students and interns for their success! In other words, a farewell lunch, and yet another reminder of the end quickly approaching.
With three days left, I cannot believe how fast this month has passed. It has been a pleasure working at RBC with the brilliant Connect team. The work environment was always bursting with creativity, innovation, and indefinite support. I am extremely thankful for being given this opportunity by SHAD, and I will truly miss everyone once my time ends. I have learned so much and met so many amazing people that I will never forget.
