Today marks the start of my last week at Nalcor, a Crown Corporation focused on Newfoundland and Labrador’s energy sector.
Over the past month I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside engineers involved with the Bull Arm Fabrication facility, Canada’s largest industrial fabrication site. It is currently being used to build an oil platform for the Hebron Project. I’ve had the opportunity to complete research, create presentations and participate in project meetings. I also got to visit the site to see the progress of the construction of the oil platform!

Today began like every other day at Nalcor, arriving at 8am, checking my email, and then working on a presentation. In a flash it was lunch time and I ate with my supervisor, a civil engineer who is very excited about Nalcor’s growth opportunities. After lunch he surprised me with a presentation on the oil and gas sector to elaborate on the topics from lunch. Now I can understand his perspective!
Overall, working at Nalcor has been an amazing experience. The people are awesome and the work environment is so pleasant. Working with an organization that can have such a significant impact on the future to my province has been amazing!
